OK- here's the true story on the name of Laughleton. I have an old letter from one of my father's ancestors who had terrible handwriting. My grandmother had tried to decipher it and had written "Laughleton" above what appeared to be the name of the town the Young's had come from in Scotland. She later learned from my grandfather that it was actually "Langholm"- it just looked like "Laughleton". But I really liked the sound and idea of Laughleton- so I used it for the gallery name!I'll try to find the letter because when I opened the gallery in 1994, I used a paragraph from it in my first invitation to the public.
